My One Pound Finds

Hello everyone and welcome to my second blog post. Today I thought I'd discuss some serious beauty bargains with you.

Before Christmas I found myself wandering around town and happened to stumble upon Poundland - the last place I expected to find any make-up related products, I'm sure you'd agree. It just so happens that if you time it right and browse the shelves just after the shop has stocked up with new items, you can find some super affordable gems...
Left-Right: Classy, Minted, Sweet Tart, Runway Pearl, Craving Coral

First up, some classic Revlon Nail Enamels. I quite like the formula of these, in particular their glossy finish, however for some reason have never thought to purchase one when out shopping. Over time, these few shades caught my eye in Poundland and have made their way into my collection:

Classy ~ A medium mauve-y pink. Perfect for school.

Minted ~ A gorgeous spring colour, very similar to Essie's Mint Candy Apple.

Sweet Tart ~ A summery, vibrant bubblegum pink.

Runway Pearl ~ Makes for a lovely pearl topcoat, or on its own for a chic and subtle mani.

Craving Coral ~ A seriously bright one-coat coral-red.

Now onto makeup bits. Firstly, some Dainty Doll eye products grabbed my attention as I have never managed to get my hands on the brand in the past. I had also heard lots of great things from the lovely Gabriella Rose about their blushers, so had rather high expectations. I picked up two of the most neutral shadows in 002 'Treat Her Like a Lady' and 003 'Teach me Tiger'. 002 is a pale taupe-silvery-lilac shade perfect for a cool smokey eye, and 003 is a medium orange-coral with gold shimmer; this looks great all over the lid and smudged into the lower lashline with heaps of mascara for a more daring summer look. These do have good pigmentation and blend fairly well. I also picked up the Dainty Doll eyeshadow base in 001 out of curiousity - this has a rather strange creamy yet chalky consistency and I'm not entirely sure if I like it or not (I may get back to you on this once I've made up my mind).

Additionally, I spotted a Milani Glimmer Stripes compact in 06 'Pink Glimmer'; I admit I got excited about this as we can't get hold of Milani very easily here in the UK, however this isn't particularly special nor pigmented and I wouldn't rush out to buy another. Lastly, I picked up three lipsticks, two from Nivea in 66 'Mauve' and 01 'Tea Rose' and one from Rimmel in 180 'Vintage Pink'. 'Mauve' is a true purple shade which is great for Autumn and Halloween and 'Tea Rose' is a light plummy-nude shade which has made its way into my acrylic holder as it is so moisturising, sheer and glossy. Rimmel's 'Vintage Pink' is like a more opaque edition of the aforementioned which was also my go-to lipstick in Autumn.

Left-Right: Nivea Lipstick 66 'Mauve, Nivea Lipstick 01 'Tea Rose', Rimmel Moisture Renew180 'Vintage Pink', Dainty Doll Eyeshadow 003 'Teach Me Tiger', Dainty Doll Eyeshadow 002 'Treat Her Like a Lady', Dainty Doll Eyeshadow Base 001, Milani Glimmer Stripes 06 'Pink Glimmer'
That's it for this seriously long post *takes a breath*. I hope you enjoyed reading about these über affordable beauty finds as much as I enjoyed writing it, I'm really liking this whole blogging deal and cannot wait to get a better camera! Thankyou for reading:)
