The Eyebrow How-To

Eyebrows can be the most taxing part of getting ready in the morning. The shape, colour, and texture can be tough to nail and for me, getting this combo just right has taken years (actual years). From the very first time I encountered a brow pencil to present day, they've been through a lot; thin black pencil eyebrows, practically invisible eyebrows, rounded orange wonky eyebrows, check, check, check.

After plenty of makeup, trials and enduring (hilarious) old photographs featuring the troublesome pair, I can now say I'm pretty happy with 'em. Here's what I do...
  1. Groom - My naturally blonde brows need very little in this department, so I've found the odd tweeze of some strays below the arch is all I need. To keep 'em fluffy I won't pluck the front or tops as I feel the more hairs here, the more texture and character remains.
  2. Fill in the gaps - no matter how dark I choose to tint my brows at Blink, I've accepted that there will always be faint patches. Armed with my Mac 266 and Maybelline Permanent Taupe Colour Tattoo, a few quick strokes focused around the tops and ends solves all such problems (although my Maybelline pot is ancient and will be needing a cruelty free replacement soon, any suggestions?).
  3. Brush - The Essence make me brow gel in 03 is my favourite (better than my old fave the Benefit gimme brow in my opinion!) and once wiggled through the hairs keeps them in check and lightly tinted all day long. I'd really recommend this for ashy blondes or brunettes as there is not a reddish tone in sight! Also, if I have just had them tinted at Blink, this product is all I need, yay for quickness :D
I hope this helps any of you wanting to achieve natural brows or perhaps have wanted to see my product recommendations, thanks for reading!

  1. Love your brows! I've naturally got pretty full brows so I don't fill them in or anything, but I do think using a really good clear brow gel is perfect for making everything look really neat and shaped!
