Recently Purchased #1

Hello Everyone!
Over the past week or so I've picked up some beauty goodies that I thought I'd share with you. Some of them I only picked up today so I can't do a proper review, but others I will be sharing my thoughts on...

First up, I bought a bottle of the L'Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Solution. Don't get me wrong, I like it and it does a pretty good job of pre-cleansing before my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, but I really can't stand the packaging. The dispenser in the lid splashes product everywhere and tends to drench the cotton pad - not good. Also, I am yet to compare this to Bioderma which still seems to hold the water-cleanser crown, so I can't really judge. As for now though, this is my micellar substitute.

This Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream was next in my shopping basket. I bought this to replace my rather average Garnier Moisture Match Cream which provided very little moisturise to my face. The thing that attracted me to this new cream was the price; £1 at Savers. I already prefer this to the Garnier option as it sinks in rather quickly and seems to quench what I want it to. It's a yes from me:)

How adorable is this minature bottle of Dr Bronners Magic Soap? I snatched this up in American Apparel last week for a mere £2 to use for travelling; I have a full size bottle of this brush-cleansing miracle worker already in my stash (the Eucalyptus one) and I can't sing it's praises enough. 1 small droplet of soap plus a splash of water and a quick swirl in your palm and your brush is squeaky clean and good as new.

After reading LLYMLRS's post about the new La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo + it was instantly added to my wishlist (I trust and adore her blogposts). My tube of original Effaclar is on it's last legs so it was time I repurchased it's new and improved older brother to fill the serum gap in my life. This is formulated with an added ingredient designed to reduce the appearnace of pigmentation marks and scarring from pesky spots, which I suffer from quite regularly. I only bought this today so I don't have any thoughts on it yet; but if I love it as much as the original it may be featured on here again.

Only this afternoon was the CHANEL Poudre Universelle Libre in Translucent added to my makeup collection and is already sat pride of place on top of my acrylic drawers. Oh my, the packaging, the product, the finish - perfect. This is my first loose powder and boy has it set some standards. I applied this the moment I got in with my RT Powder Brush and 4 hours later my T-Zone still feels like velvet. I can tell this is going to be a staple already..

So that's all for my first 'Recent Purchases' post. Let me know if you'd be interested to see a post focued on powders, as I have some I'd like to feature. Also, thankyou all for reading, commenting and following; I love replying to all of you and appreciate every bit of feedback you guys give, so keep 'em coming!:)

  4. I love the L'Oreal micellar water but I agree, the packaging is terrible! I'm yet to try out Bioderma as well. And the Chanel loose powder is gorgeous, I use mine sparingly as it has some glitter particles in it but ah well, it's so finely milled and really sets makeup well. x

  7. I really want to try Bioderma as well... I think Skin Perfection is really good though. It's the /only/ thing I've had that actually gets my mascara off without scrubbing half my eyelid off. Definitely agree about the packaging though; it feels so cheap and, like you say, it just splashes everywhere so half of it doesn't even get used.
The Chanel powder sounds /amazing/. So tempted to go out and buy it. My skin is annoyingly oily so I've yet to find a powder that tackles that properly.

    Lovely post!
